Recently I have been privileged to witnes the way two local missions work and it's been a real been a way to soften my sometimes hard and skeptical heart.
The first one I was a part of and it was only the training for the actual mission coming up in January. Peninsula SUFM (Scripture Union Family Mission). I saw a large group of people from all different backgrounds and age groups coming to share God's love with children and families camped along the Rosebud Foreshore. Wether it be through music, games, stories, stupidly over the top activities (Joshy) or just in conversations with others these missionaries were excited to be sharing God's love with others. To be honest it started to put me to shame. I'd stayed away far too long. It was great to be a part of something so genuine and practical again, working with people who want to be doing something for others while building a long term relationship. Top notch!
The second mission I wanted to talk about is the Red Frogs Chaplaincy program based in Rye. We went down to visit these guys with the church group I'm a part of, The Huddle. These guys spend their time in humble service to Schoolies who are enjoying their well deserved holidays partying hard down on the Peninsula. It was great to beable to see these guys serving those around them by talking to them, providing water, red frog lollies, pancake breakfasts, free bus trips, etc...
We were lucky enough to be able to join the Red Frogs team in their worship and prayer time later on in the eavening and it was great tp hear them remind each other that they were here to serve and that by serving they were showing God's love to the young people around them. It was also great to see the way Red Frogs were able to work alongside the council and Police to make sure everyone had a safe and fun time.
Serving the community while serving God. Where could you go wrong!

First time to the blogging world
I'm feeling fairly old right now! hmmmm. Blogging's not exactly new to the world. Just a late comer I s'pose. I'm keen to have a place to shed a few thoughts, Ideas emotions and opinions. Not only will it help get a few things out in the open it may help someone else one day. Maybe.
Where could I start??? Well what this Blogging thing could mean to me could the place to go. It could be a place to get stuff off my chest, explore my beliefs and get input from others. I often get these cravins to let my thoughts be known but sometimes just struggle to get it out there in the open. I guess it's the artistic side to me that makes me want to write stuff and be creative. Could be stupid at times.
Thats probably a fair warning for those who might read this. I could be confusing at times or just on some stupid high horse. Oh well. It's all for the fun of it, I'm sure.
Well although that was fairly short it was fun. I'll have another crack sometime later this week.
